Well there is no need to be overly dramatic about it, it is just cricket and not even Test. That said, the Delhi Daredevils have had quite the terrible week. The Daredevils have had four matches and managed to lose each and every one of them and in doing so knocked themselves out of any playoff chance. The Daredevils travelled to the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai to take on the Rajasthan Royals this evening in the 500th match in Indian Premier League history. Unfortunately, if you were tuning in in hopes of seeing some beautiful cricket from the Daredevils, you were sadly disappointed. The match was filled with poor fielding and lackluster bowling from Delhi who to their credit did make it a much closer match in the end with their batting then it ought to have been.
It was an early start for anyone in the United States waking up to watch the Daredevils take on Kings XI in Delhi yesterday in their 7th match of the season. For those that root for Delhi and did manage to watch or tune in Friday morning, they were rewarded with an excellent display of cricket from the home side. Continue reading

A stable of stars does not a team make—but that doesn’t stop the Royal Challengers from attempting to disprove this truism year after year. Known more for collecting big names than securing big results, the two-time IPL runners-up haven’t managed to seal a playoff spot since 2011, where they lost to Chennai in the finals. Yet despite the lackluster campaigns of the past several years, logic dictates that the immense talent of Bangalore must eventually coalesce. And with a squad filled with names such as Kohli, Gayle, Starc, and de Villers, it’s hard not to think that 2015 will finally be there year where it all comes together.
Whether or not you are ready for the onslaught of on-screen ads, flames, and cheerleaders, the Indian Premier League returns for its 8th installment this Wednesday when Kolkata takes on Mumbai at Eden Gardens in the curtain-raiser. Continue reading
